How to play

Read it. Type it. Take them out.

No guns. Everyone has a number written on their forehead. Read an opponent’s number, type it on your keyboard, and they’re out. Meanwhile, they’re reading yours.

Type the number on the forehead

Type the number you see

Use your keyboard or the keypad below. It sends as soon as you type the last digit.

Three steps

Find

Explore the map and find your opponents. They don’t show up on the mini map, so you have to spot them yourself.

Read

Read the number on their forehead. Too far away? Zoom in with the scope: hold right-click or press B.

Type

Type the number. It sends the moment you hit the last digit, no Enter needed. If they’re in view, they’re read and out of the game, and back 3 seconds later with a new number.

The rules of reading

  • A number only counts if that player is in view. You can’t read anyone behind a wall or a smoke cloud.
  • Type a wrong number and your keypad locks for a moment, so guessing doesn’t pay.
  • In team modes, your teammates’ numbers don’t count.
  • A crouching player’s forehead can’t be seen behind waist-high cover.
  • If someone is leaning out from a corner, you can only read them when their whole number is visible. Coming soon
  • Numbers never start with 0.
  • When a bot is about to read you, a red “YOU’RE BEING READ” bar appears. Human players can read you without any warning.

You can rebind keys with Change keys in the menu. Digits, Backspace, Enter, Tab and Esc can’t be changed.

Heads-up about Ctrl+WCrouching while walking forward means pressing Ctrl+W, which closes the tab in most browsers. In Chrome and Edge the game goes full screen when a match starts and takes over that shortcut. In Safari and Firefox you’ll be asked “Leave the match?” before the tab closes. If you’d rather not risk it, crouch with C only.

On a phone

  • There’s a movement stick bottom left and a keypad bottom right.
  • The buttons above them are SMOKE, FLASH, SCOPE, JUMP and CROUCH.
  • Drag the screen to look around. Tap the mini map in the corner to open the big map.
  • Phones get the Fast graphics setting automatically. The game was built for a keyboard, so it’s at its best on a computer.

Modes

Free-for-all

Everyone against everyone. First to the target (10, 15 or 25 reads) wins, or whoever has the most reads when time runs out.

Team battle

Orange against Blue. Your teammates’ numbers don’t count. The team that reaches its target first, or leads when time runs out, wins.

Capture the flag

Grab the other team’s flag and bring it back to your base. It only counts if your own flag is at home. If the carrier gets read, the flag drops; if nobody touches it for 20 seconds, it goes back to base. First to 3, 5 or 7 captures wins.

Matches last 3, 5 or 10 minutes. Pick PLAY VS BOTS to take on 3 to 11 bots on your own (Easy, Normal or Hard). MULTIPLAYER lets you create or join a room, and the room owner can add bots too.

Math mode

Set Forehead to Math in the menu and foreheads show math problems instead of numbers. To read someone, type the answer.

5×25125
400+25425
300÷2150

Easy

Solved at a glance: 400+25, 34×10, 300÷2.

Medium

Makes you think a little: 125+48, 3×45, 450÷5.

Hard

Real mental math, like 12×83.

The Digits setting picks 3- or 4-digit answers. Bots take longer on problems than on plain numbers.

The no-hiding rule

If you tuck into a corner and face the wall, nobody can ever read you, and that ruins the game. So:

0–4 sFine. Turning to a wall for a moment in a fight is a fair move.
4–7 sWarning: “Turn away from the wall!”, with a 3-second bar.
7 sExposed: your number shows on the back of your head too.
  • It only kicks in when you’re facing a wall or an obstacle and standing still. Standing in a corner while facing the open is never punished.
  • Once you’re exposed, your number appears on the back of your head as well, and a red marker shows where you are on everyone’s map.
  • It lasts at least 8 seconds. Get exposed again in the same match and it’s 15, then 25 seconds.
  • It wears off once the time is up, you’re facing away from the wall and you’ve moved 3 meters. Getting read ends it too.
  • No teleporting, no kicks, no bans: exposure is the only penalty. The rule can be switched off in the settings.

Bombs and supply boxes

Smoke bomb · G

Nobody can read a forehead through the cloud. Use it to escape when someone’s reading you, or to cross open ground.

Flash bomb · V

Anyone looking at it when it goes off gets a white screen. Players facing away are barely affected.

Supply box · F

There are 5 boxes on the map. When someone hits a certain number of reads, a bomb lands in the box nearest to them and everyone hears about it. Anyone who walks up to the box can grab it.

Everyone starts a match with 2 smoke bombs and 2 flash bombs. You can carry up to 4 of each.

Tips

  • Keep moving. A player standing still is easy to read.
  • Check corners with your eyes first; the scope narrows your view.
  • Crouch behind waist-high cover: your forehead disappears, but you can still look out.
  • If someone’s about to read you, throw smoke and move.
  • An opponent who’s seen your number will read you the moment you meet again. Once you’re read, you come back with a new one.
  • Keep your left hand on W A S D and your right on the digits. You don’t need to let go of anything to type.
  • If the game stutters, set Graphics to Fast in the menu.
  • Opponents never show on the mini map. You only see teammates, exposed players, smoke clouds and supply boxes.

FAQ

Is it free? Do I need to download anything?

It’s free and there’s nothing to download; it runs in your browser. Sponsor billboards inside the game pay the bills.

Do I need an account?

No. You just type a nickname. Your settings are saved in your browser. More on the Privacy page.

How do I play with friends?

MULTIPLAYER → CREATE ROOM. Copy the room’s invite link and send it to your friends. You can add a password or keep the room off the list. Whoever creates the room is its owner and picks the settings, bots and admins.

The room list is empty. Now what?

Play against bots, or create your own room, add some bots and share the invite link.

Why didn’t my number count?

The player wasn’t in view (a wall or smoke was in the way), they were on your team, or nobody had that number. Online, the room owner’s game makes the call, so lag can occasionally give you a “MISSED”.

The mouse won’t lock and I can’t look around.

Click the game screen once. After you press Esc, your browser may not hand the mouse back straight away; wait a second and click again.

I pressed Ctrl and the tab closed.

Ctrl+W is your browser’s close-tab shortcut. In Chrome and Edge the game takes it over during a match; Safari and Firefox ask first. You can crouch with C instead.

The game stutters.

Set Graphics to Fast in the menu, close other tabs and update your browser.

The flash bomb is hard on my eyes.

The flash bomb turns the screen white in an instant. If you have photosensitive epilepsy or a similar condition, take care, and stop right away if you feel unwell.

Someone is being abusive or cheating.

You can mute or report them from your own screen, and a room admin can kick them. You can also email us at {{ILETISIM_EPOSTA}}. The rules are in the Terms of use.

How old do I need to be?

13 or over. If you’re under 18, play with a parent’s or guardian’s permission.

I’d like to advertise in the game.
